Q. What inspired you to become a Mortgage Broker?

A. I worked as a lending officer in overseas banks for five years, and I’ve always loved connecting with people, understanding their financial needs, and helping them reach their goals. I came to New Zealand to do my Master’s in Applied Management, and after graduating, I ended up working mostly in the project finance side. While working full-time, I got curious about the mortgage industry here in NZ. The more I explored it, the more I found it fascinating and super rewarding to help people get onto the property ladder and achieve their dreams. With my background in finance and lending, I realised I could really help people make better, more informed financial decisions. It feels amazing to be in a career where I can make such a positive impact.

Q. What is the best part of being a Mortgage Broker?

A. Helping people achieve their dream of buying their first home and supporting them in growing their property investment portfolios.

Q. What have you found to be the most challenging aspect?

A. Getting to grips with the different bank policies, procedures, and risk appetites can be tricky. Plus, the rapid changes in lending regulations keep me on my toes.

Q. How would you sum up being a Mortgage Broker in three words?

A. Smart, informative and friendly

Q. If you were Prime Minister for one day, what would you do?

A. Ban all social media for school-age kids. It’d be a game changer for their focus, mental health, and overall well-being
